Chapter 1: Reassigned

First day, reassigned, reminds me of the old days. Not that there's anything wrong with that, its just sometimes being an Undercover Elite Soul Reaper can take a toll on you after a while. I've been assigned to Karakura Town, I haven't really heard about this place other then overhearing officers talking about someone getting assigned here and I can't remember who it was. Oh well, I might as well get ready for school. I'm not even really sure why I have to go to school. The Soul Society just told me to, maybe because I look young enough. Who knows.

My apartment is large, dull and boring. No paint on the walls and very little furniture. The only color in here are a few candles, some of my stuff I brought from home, and my clothes hanging in my small closet. I just hope that today I'll be able to meet some nice people that I can hang out with because this place is a little depressing.

I decide to get up and get ready to go to school. I open my curtains to let some light in and go in the shower. My bathroom is small. Again not very exciting color wise. After getting dressed I brush my hair and put my makeup on. Appearance is very important to me. Its about 7am and I don't have to be in school until 8. An hour to waste. I don't have a T.V yet nor a radio. I might as well sit here. Alone.

I decided to make some coffee, and eat something. The one thing I like about this apartment is that is has a balcony porch, I sat outside and watched the sun rise. Hmm I thought looking at my watch, 7:30 I might as well start walking to school since its across town. After brushing my teeth and grabbing my school bag I walked outside and locked the door behind me. It was warm out, slightly cool but damp. I'm wearing my school blouse with a skirt thats a little to short in my opinion, I don't mind really I just think it would be better as a skort, thigh high socks and some girly loafers that have a 3 inch heel. Walking down the stairs from my apartment I notice a group of teens that look about the age that I would most likely be if I lived in this world, standing outside waiting.

I get down to the sidewalk and see a really tall guy, a guy with glasses and a girl with who looked about my height with strawberry blonde hair. They were just talking. As I go to cross the street I see a short girl with black hair walk out of the house everyone was standing in front of, she looks familiar. Then I see a boy with orange hair walk out after the girl with black hair. I'm still just standing across the street from them. "Hey!!" "You over there!!" "You wanna walk to school with us?" the girl with strawberry blonde hair yelled to me. I walked over to the group of teens and said "Hi, I'm Marisa, I just w--moved here" I almost said was assigned here. They each introduced themselves.

The tall guy: Chad

Guy with glasses: Uryu

Girl with strawberry blonde hair: Orihime

Short girl: Rukia

Guy with orange hair: Ichigo

"Hi" I said again laughing, "its nice to meet you all."

"Well we don't want to be late" Orihime said, "Lets go!"

I walked next to Orihime on the way to school, Chad and Uyru walked ahead of us and Ichigo and Rukia behind us. I can hear those 2 behind me talking about something but I can't quite understand what it is they are talking about. Maybe they're together, or close friends, who knows. Rukia does look familiar, ugh I'm having a slow morning. Every time I turn around and look back at them Ichigo is always looking up at me, he just smiles and slowly lowers his gaze and goes back to talking to Rukia. Orihime and I became like best friends instantly, we like a lot of the same things, I'm glad I met these guys here but for some reason I feel like I know them already. While talking to Orihime I noticed her hair pins. "Oh those are so pretty" I said looking at them. She put her hand on them and said, "Thanks!" "My brother gave them to me before he passed away." I fell silent. "I'm sorry to hear that." I said. She hugged me and said, "Its okay" with a half smile, and we continued walking to school.

Arriving at school, I find out that I'm in the same class as everyone. I chose to sit in the back of the classroom, because I don't like sitting in the front, then again who does. The teacher had me stand up and introduce myself, "Hi, I'm Marisa." I said, "I'm from down south and I just moved up here with my cousin." I lied, its not like I can say, "Hey I'm Marisa I'm an elite Soul Reaper here to protect your town from Hollows and such because they couldn't find anything else for me to do." Yeah, I'm pretty sure that would go over well.

Throughout the morning I keep noticing Ichigo turning around to see what I'm doing and just staring for a few seconds. Is there something on my face? shirt? I pull out my mirror to check, nope! Interesting. Well maybe he thinks I'm pretty or something. Oh well whatever it is I need to finish mastering my Bankai later. I wonder if anyone around here is a Soul Reaper, up until now I've always been away out on assignment so I have no idea whose where anymore. Though I do remember Captain Hitsugaya explaining something to me not to long ago, something about an invasion. I was half listening to him but I do remember some of what he said, but its to early for me to really sit here and think about what it was.

Lunch finally rolls around. Suddenly I hear my phone ringing. I excuse myself, and run out of the classroom. Luckily I have my Soul Candy in my pocket, I quickly told myself to hide in the bathroom and I flash stepped out of an open window. While reading the coordinates on my phone, I notice Ichigo and Rukia running down the sidewalk dressed in Soul Reaper uniforms. I thought I was seeing things for a minute but nope I'm definitely seeing this. I try to lower my spiritual pressure enough so neither of them can detect my presence and flash step to get past them and take care of this Hollow myself.

"Ichigo, someone else is here, another Soul Reaper, high power level too." Rukia says. "What?" "Who?" "Where?" he replies looking around. "Above us." she says looking up, "Lets go."

Unfortunately I cannot find this Hollow, so here I am standing in the air reading the message. I detect 2 people coming up on my left, as I go to flash step away its already to late and Rukia and Ichigo are already standing in front of me. Rukia is looking down with her arms crossed waiting for an explanation and Ichigo is smiling at me and he seems to be satisfied with what he sees.
